Thin Green Lines is a sound piece installed alongside vinyl outlines of birds who died of bird strikes during migration season in Chicago. It was displayed as part of the Cherry Knot Anniversary show I Used to Have a Favorite Tree.

The sound installation is a randomly looping bird sound that is made with a microcontroller and an amplifier circuit; they are not recorded, but generated.
